About Us

At New Village Community Partners (NVCP), we believe farming is a powerful tool to address some of our most pressing local challenges—from food insecurity and environmental disconnection to isolation and stress. When we grow together, we build healthier, more resilient communities. We strive to cultivate connections, belonging, and well being through farming. Let’s grow something meaningful.

NVCP is the succession organization for New Village Farm, aiming to spread our educational philosophy, mission, and vision far beyond our current home at 700 Harbor rd, Shelburne, VT.

Mission

We strive to embody presence moment by moment in all we do:

  • Fostering healthy community,

  • Growing nutrient-rich food,

  • Engaging with land and animals,

  • Building systems for ease,

  • Enjoying the task at hand,

  • Cultivating a thriving planet.

Vision

We envision a world rooted in thriving farms and flourishing ecosystems, where well-being, wonder, and belonging are everyday experiences for all.

Our Path

Every program we offer is grounded in our commitment to presence, connection, and regeneration. Through hands-on experiences, relationship-building, and care for the land, we bring our mission and vision to life:

Community Gardens
We host and support our community in gardening where people of all ages come together to grow food, build relationships, and care for shared land. These spaces foster healthy community, promote food sovereignty, and offer moments of joy and reflection in the rhythm of nature.

Children’s Garden
Our children’s programs introduce young learners to the wonders of the natural world through growing food, education, and play. We nurture curiosity, care, and connection—planting seeds for lifelong engagement with land, animals, and community.

Teen Apprenticeship & Programming
Teens join us to learn practical skills, grow confidence, and contribute meaningfully to their community. Our apprenticeship track offers skill building in areas such as livestock management, garden maintenance, carpentry, leadership development, volunteer hours, a letter of recommendation, and a potential path to employment—while instilling a sense of purpose, presence, and belonging.

Curriculum Development
We’re building accessible, experiential learning tools for schools, educators and parents, rooted in land-based wisdom and systems thinking. Our curricula are designed to support ease, engagement, and joy in teaching while aligning with broader ecological and social goals.

Together, these programs move us toward a world where farms flourish, ecosystems thrive, and well-being is woven into the everyday experience of all people.
